We love a good story. The Hunting Lodge site is rich in history and the stories live on through generations. Home of New Zealand's original Sauvignon Blanc commercial vines and once a real hunting lodge for the Kerr-Taylor family, this site has seen it's fair share of change over the years.
It's most recent chapter revives The Hunting Lodge's culinary past. With the Restaurant sitting at the beating heart of the site, our working winery is home to everything good - Food, wine, friends and family. Cheers to that.
The Hunting Lodge is located in Waimauku, just outside of Kumeū in West Auckland wine country, approximately 30 minutes from Auckland CBD, around 40 minutes from Auckland Airport, and just 15 minutes from Muriwai Beach. Woodhill Forest is also only minutes away, offering a wide range of outdoor activities including horse riding, mountain biking, tree climbing, paintball, and off-road adventures. Nearby Parakai is another great spot for a family day out, with its well-known hot pools and activities perfect for exploring the west.
